Harrison Co. Senior Advisor John Weiss Featured at RFDC and by the Franchise Times

Harrison Co. Restaurant Senior Advisor, John Weiss, was featured at the RFDC and by the Franchise Times in a piece titled, “Restaurant Operators Take Note: Look Beyond Unit Economics”.

According to Mr. Weiss, there is no magic bullet regarding cash-on-cash returns, “It seems that almost all restaurant companies going public have a 30 percent cash-on-cash return at their stores. Does that guarantee future success as a business or as a publicly traded stock? The answer is ‘no.’ There’s nothing magical about a 30 percent cash-on-cash return at the unit level. These returns must be measured accurately.” Mr. Weiss also added that for up and coming brands, “We believe that for smaller, emerging concepts, it’s better to compete with legacy chains by offering true hospitality, and expand at a pace dictated by your ability to select great sites at reasonable costs.”
