Creve Coeur, Missouri, April 1, 2022 – Harrison Co., an investment banking firm dedicated to advising entrepreneur-led businesses in ag-tech and the food supply chain, today announced it advised Aker Technologies (“Aker” or the “Company”), a pioneer in sensor-based data aggregation and analytics for agriculture, on its equity raise from an undisclosed family office investor. The investment will be primarily used to integrate geospatial and satellite imagery data into Aker’s existing, proprietary dataset, creating a more holistic suite of analytics and diagnostics for the Company’s clients.
“I am pleased with the outcome of our equity raise and look forward to deploying the new capital to drive more value for our clients and grow our Company,” said Orlando Saez, co-founder and CEO of Aker. “It has been a pleasure working with Harrison Co. as the firm has allocated significant resources to Aker throughout the process, including substantial Partner-level attention and support. We at Aker look forward to working with Harrison Co. again in the future.”
“We are delighted to have represented Aker on its equity raise,” said Sean Deson, Partner at Harrison Co. “Orlando and the Aker team have created an indispensable tool for the agricultural sector that will help to ensure the economic and environmental sustainability of farming operations and the nation’s food supply at large. This investment will enable Aker to enhance its analytics offerings at compelling price points and scale its operations.”
ABOUT AKER TECHNOLOGIES, INC.
Founded in 2015 by Orlando Saez, Aker set out to improve the profitability and yields of farming operations by transforming how crops are monitored with accurate identification of potential crop problems using high-resolution sensor data and predictive analytics. The Company’s solution consists of both hardware and software. The legacy solutions capture data from both above and below the canopy of the crops. The new generation of solutions leverages offset geospatial data to create high-resolution crop data. The data is then processed through a series of proprietary algorithms which identify signs of crop distress and diagnose the cause of that distress. The user can then leverage these insights to effectively treat crops and preserve yield.
